[Slipknot es un grupo de nu-metal formado en 1995 en Des Moines, en el estado de Iowa, Estados Unidos, caracterizados por el hecho de que cada uno de los integrantes usa una máscara.
La banda tuvo una formación estable a finales de 1995, entonces en Halloween de 1996 lanzarón su primer álbum/demo titulado Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat que fue distribuido por el sello "ismist Recordings". Un año después Corey Taylor se integra a la banda y Anders (anterior vocalista) fue puesto en la percusión, pero a Anders no le interesaba la percusión por eso dejo la banda.
Sus miembros utilizan dos tipos de guitarra (principal y rítmica), un bajo, dos instrumentos de percusión personalizados, una batería e instrumentos electrónicos como samplers o mesas de mezclas.

Esta un poco des prolija pero vale la pena
